Oceanside Chamber of Commerce
Multi-year engagement in organizational growth and strategic direction
Assessments, facilitated workshops, and ongoing advisory support to help leadership and staff with capacity, transition, and growth, and to align around shared priorities. This included two strategic planning sessions: a 2025 session focused on one-year goals, and a 2026 session building a shared three-year vision for serving the broader business community.
“April Durrant has been an invaluable partner to the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, guiding us through a comprehensive organizational health and FourSight assessment that engaged both our Board and staff in meaningful reflection and planning. Her facilitation of our 2025 strategic planning session laid a strong foundation for long-term growth, and we’re excited to continue this momentum with Phase 2 of her work, including innovative idea generation sessions, member-focused research, and clear performance tracking strategies. Our Board of Directors and staff are finding great value in April’s work, as her thoughtful approach and expertise are helping us align our internal strengths with the needs of our business community in powerful ways.”

TrueCare
FourSight Reveal sessions
Two FourSight Reveal sessions, one with internal organizational teams and one with TrueCare’s youth academy. The team session sparked early solution generation, while the youth session introduced creative thinking and problem-solving frameworks participants can carry into an increasingly complex workforce.

Oceanside Historical Society
Community insight and planning facilitation
Worked with nonprofit leaders and volunteers to gather local community insights as a starting point for brainstorming and planning. Sessions built on those many perspectives to explore the current state and new directions, and attendees created realistic ideas, steps, and action plans for the organization’s growth within the Oceanside community.
“Having the opportunity to reflect on accomplishments is actually refreshing when feeling weighted down by future tasks. It is great to be reminded that we are moving forward! I am grateful that you refocused me/us and we are enthusiastic on where we are headed as an organization.”

MainStreet Oceanside
Leadership retreat facilitation
Facilitated a retreat with MainStreet Oceanside members and community partners from local businesses and community-based organizations. The work drew on insights about recent concerns, needs, and interests from community stakeholders, helping attendees explore opportunities coming out of the pandemic and look ahead through the eyes of the community. The partnership continued in 2023.
“April Durrant demonstrates great leadership to the work she performed with our leadership team. Her facilitation structure and organization skills allowed our team to think outside the box and bring our goals into perspective. Her performance and ability to work with organization leaders is truly remarkable. Thank you for your continuous consultation to MainStreet Oceanside Team.”

Beyond the community sector
“She is one of many consultants I have contacted to help me and is the only one that seemed to take an actual interest in getting to know my needs and offered practical advice instead of trying to sell me on products. She is very thorough in her methods and works very quickly and efficiently.”
“She unflinchingly tackles the problems at hand to find the heart of the matter and then she will work with you to find realistic solutions that will better you overall. I have seen her find creative ways to improve situations at already successful businesses.”
